The Timeline is displayed at the top and bottom of the chart. By default, the Timeline is divided in 10-year increments, however this is customizable.

A notch in the Life Bar indicates there is an estimated birth or death date in the data.

One Life Bar is shown on the chart for each person. The length of the Life Bar indicates the length of the person’s life.

Color indicates the person’s lineage. The paternal lineage is shown in various shades of blue and the maternal lineage in various shades of pink.

An unfilled Life Bar indicates Genelines has estimated the life span for that person.
