[1] How can I tell what video card I am using?

There are two ways to tell which video adapter card is installed in your system.

[A] If DirectX has been installed on your system, click on the Start button, enter "dxdiag" (no quotes). Click on the "Display" tab, note the Name and Chip Type.

[B] Click on Start, Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Expand Display Adapters.

[2] Manual installation of Microsoft DirectX components.

It may sometimes be necessary to manually install the Microsoft DirectX components. To do so, simply browse to the folder where 3D Family Tree was installed, ex:

C:\Program Files (x86)\3D Family Tree\

and double-click on the following program file name:

DXSETUP.exe

Or "DXSETUP" if you have your computer set to not display the file extensions (.EXE).

Reply to the prompts, and this will install the DirectX program.
