You are correct that Genelines is not able to open .ftm files directly created by the latest versions of Family Tree Maker (2008 through to 2012). It is only able to open the older .ftw files created by the early versions. Unfortunately, there have been so many extensive changes made to the Family Tree Maker format that we are unable to keep some of our products fully compatible.

You are still able to open your files with Genelines by exporting your Family Tree Maker file to a gedcom. This can be done within Family Tree Maker. This sounds far more intimidating than it really is. The following page may help: http://progenygenealogy.com/Products/...
